In 2000, Alltech purchased the Lexington Brewing Company and began manufacturing our flagship direct-to-consumer product, Kentucky Ale®. With Alltech’s core technology in yeast fermentation, a family history of cooperage and a passion for brewing and distilling, it only made sense that Pearse Lyons, founder of Alltech, would one day brew and distill Kentucky’s finest beers and spirits.
Located in the heart of downtown Lexington, Alltech’s Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company has created award-winning beers since Kentucky Ale was launched. Kentucky Light® debuted in 2003 and Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale completed our “Triple Crown of Beers” in 2006.

Bluegrass Sundown™
An Irish tradition with a Kentucky twist
Developed by Alltech's Master Distillers, Bluegrass Sundown is reminiscent of the famed Irish coffee, with a decidedly Kentucky spin. Full-flavored hot coffee, infused with Kentucky Bourbon and sugar, is combined with boiling water and topped with a thick, cool cream -- the grand finale to a special evening.
